The night ran wild with the mix of sounds running through the air. The sound of foot steps crunching on the cement, snores, cars rumbling in the distance, dogs barking and howling throughout the town, and the tapping of rain hitting buildings. A lone man was squatting at the end of a roof, looking over the streets, the people below completely oblivious to the hunter above them. Scanning the area once more, he tenses his body and leaps to the next roof. Walking along the edge until he reaches the corner of the street again looking around, like an animal hunting for prey. The man’s eyes quickly change from a dull grey to a crimson red the pupils dilating. Looking  around, his gaze lingering on a man sitting in the park.

He raises his hand to his ear and pressed a small button on the ear piece. “This is Damien. I’ve found one. The infrared checks out”. After a few moments a small burst of static rumbles from the ear piece  and then the words Damien wanted to hear “Copy, you are free to engage”. Standing up, Damien took a step forward, dropping off the roof and straight down into the alley below. Making his way to the man in the park. Walking into the park Damien walked over to the bench opposite of the man and sat down looking at the man.

The man nodded to Damien “Nice night, is it not?” leaning back on the bench, Damien looked at the man cautiously “Your not from around here are you?..” Grinning, the man leaned forwards “No I am not, you may call me Jean.” Damien didn’t notice the woman behind him until a hand burst through his shoulder, pain erupting throughout his body, Damien looked down in shock before being thrown to the side, both the blood from his shoulder and the water upon the ground began to conjure into one pool, in the background screams could be heard as though it was coming from a tunnel, his vision fading away into the darkness.
